Three Souvenirs fo The Itapecerica River - 2007

 

This project consisted in the production of three stages of water: liquid, gaseous and solid. It was inspired by the bags of frozen soda, sold by peddlers on the streets of the city, called "chup-chup."

 

The sachets, containing our water from the Itapecerica River, were distributed to the population that walked by at the entrance of the main bridge connecting the center of Divinópolis to the Niterói neighborhood.

 

The intention was to present water in its three stages, to remember us all about how much its forms are part of human existence. Everyone who passed by could see and reflect on this. It was a call of attention to the Itapecerica river that cuts Divinópolis and to its agony due to the general pollution and neglect of the city hall.
