Parade of non-place - 2013

 

This performance, in the form of a procession, was a protest on the need of an exhibition space for the visual arts in Divinópolis. A suitable place that could function technically and collectively, effectively serving the interests of artists desirous of exposing their works, making public poetic insertions and including a sense of visual education in the city.

 

The local culture did not receive, along with its development, a specific education / educational policy that desired its refinement. We live in this world where the spatial, evaluative, cultural, ethical, affective, and social referents are undone all the time and are rebuilt in the pragmatic need of the market and the furtive routines, that is, we live in a society dominated by the media cultural industry and its transient frivolity that has no reflection or memory.

 

 

We do not educate the senses if they are not sensitized; nor the ear with the sounds and music; nor the eye with the images; nor the body with the dance. Education is not only promoted within educational institutions as such, but also in the habitus of the sensitive, cultivated by an entire community, namely, when this society shares its cultural knowledge. For this reason, a space dedicated to each sharing of the sensitive is of extreme importance for those who live in plurality, in diversity; educating and preserving what we have of essential: humanity. We demand a new space, where the various plastic manifestations may be possible.
